Samsung United States Firmware & Software Directory
This independent directory indexes official Samsung firmware releases and recovery binaries specifically configured for hardware distributed across the United States. US Galaxy smartphones and tablets utilize Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and North American RF band architectures that differ fundamentally from international Exynos counterparts.
Before downloading, check your complete model code under Settings → About phone. US models end with U1 (Factory Unlocked, carrier-agnostic) or U (Carrier: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile). Flashing European (SM-...B) or Indian (SM-...INS) firmware onto US hardware will fail Odin bootloader checks and can cause a hard brick.

US devices: update & recovery guidance
Follow verified instructions for US Qualcomm platforms and Tizen hardware. Check official Samsung US resources before flashing.
Galaxy smartphones (US): official Odin recovery & updates
- Back up your Galaxy phone with Samsung Smart Switch for PC or Google One before starting an update.
- Check Settings → Software update for official over-the-air (OTA) updates first before attempting manual flashing.
- Confirm your exact US model code (e.g. SM-S928U1 for S24 Ultra Unlocked) and CSC code (XAA for unbranded).
- In Samsung Odin, load the 4 partition binaries into BL, AP, CP, and HOME_CSC (to retain user data) or CSC (to factory wipe).
US Snapdragon Galaxy models feature cryptographically locked bootloaders that prohibit custom kernels. Flashing official Samsung stock ROMs via Odin maintains Knox 0x0 status.

Samsung Galaxy Book & Laptops (US): BIOS & firmware update procedure
- Connect the original Samsung USB-C AC power adapter; ensure battery charge is at least 30% before starting.
- Suspend Windows BitLocker or save your 48-digit BitLocker recovery key to an external device before flashing BIOS.
- Open the official Samsung Update application in Windows to scan for and install the recommended BIOS/firmware release.
- Allow the notebook to reboot automatically during UEFI flashing; do not close the lid, press the power button, or disconnect power.
An interrupted BIOS flash can brick the laptop motherboard. Always maintain uninterrupted AC power during the update cycle.

Galaxy tablets (US): Wi-Fi and 5G cellular update procedure
- Back up tablet storage and confirm full model code in Settings → About tablet (Wi-Fi SM-X...0 vs 5G SM-X...8U).
- Connect to high-speed Wi-Fi and check Settings → Software update → Download and install.
- For offline recovery, connect to Samsung Smart Switch for Windows or Mac and select Emergency Software Recovery.
- Verify binary bit version (SW REV) before attempting an Odin flash; downgrading below your current bootloader bit is permanently blocked by Samsung hardware.
Wi-Fi and cellular firmware files are never cross-compatible. Check the exact model suffix before flashing.

Samsung Smart TVs (US): online and USB update procedure
- Record the complete TV model code and installed software from Settings → Support → About This TV.
- For network-connected TVs, select Settings → Support → Software Update → Update Now to install the latest US Tizen build.
- For USB update, download the official Samsung US firmware archive for your exact TV model onto a FAT32/NTFS formatted flash drive.
- Extract the downloaded image directly to the drive root without extra enclosing folders, plug into the TV USB port, and start the update.
Keep the TV plugged in and powered throughout the update. Do not flash European or Asian TV firmware on US ATSC hardware.

- Create a full system or partition backup before updating SSD controller firmware.
- Launch Samsung Magician on Windows to verify genuine status and check for available firmware updates.
- Follow Magician’s update prompt and perform a full system shutdown and reboot when instructed.
- For standalone or OEM drives, check Samsung Semiconductor support or computer manufacturer channels for model-specific ISOs.
Firmware updates for Samsung NVMe SSDs are non-destructive, but backups are mandatory to protect critical data.
