US Galaxy Book & Laptop BIOS / Firmware Guidelines
Samsung Galaxy Book laptops sold across the United States (including Galaxy Book4, Book5, Book6 Pro, 360, and Ultra models, as well as legacy NP/NT notebook series) receive critical UEFI BIOS and embedded controller (EC) firmware updates. These updates optimize Intel and Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite platform stability, extend battery runtime, enhance thermal cooling curves, and address Windows 11 BitLocker security advisories.
Before applying a BIOS update, verify your full model code (e.g. NP960XGL-XG1US) found on the bottom chassis label or via the Samsung Settings application. Never power off or disconnect the AC power adapter while a UEFI BIOS flash is in progress.

US Laptops & Books: update guidance
Follow verified instructions for US Qualcomm platforms and Tizen hardware. Check official Samsung US resources before flashing.
Samsung Galaxy Book & Laptops (US): BIOS & firmware update procedure
- Connect the original Samsung USB-C AC power adapter; ensure battery charge is at least 30% before starting.
- Suspend Windows BitLocker or save your 48-digit BitLocker recovery key to an external device before flashing BIOS.
- Open the official Samsung Update application in Windows to scan for and install the recommended BIOS/firmware release.
- Allow the notebook to reboot automatically during UEFI flashing; do not close the lid, press the power button, or disconnect power.
An interrupted BIOS flash can brick the laptop motherboard. Always maintain uninterrupted AC power during the update cycle.

Questions about US Laptops & Books updates
How do I safely update the BIOS on my Samsung Galaxy Book in the US?
The safest and official method is through the Samsung Update app on Windows. Connect the AC adapter, ensure battery is over 30%, temporarily suspend BitLocker, and let Samsung Update download and flash the certified BIOS image.
Where do I find my exact Samsung laptop model code?
Check the laser-etched sticker on the bottom chassis of your laptop (starts with NP or NT, e.g. NP960XGL-XG1US), or open the Samsung Settings app and navigate to About device.
Can I flash Samsung laptop BIOS without the AC charger connected?
No. Samsung UEFI flashing utilities enforce an AC power requirement and minimum 30% battery threshold to prevent power loss from corrupting the motherboard EEPROM.
Does updating Samsung Galaxy Book BIOS delete my personal files?
No. A BIOS update writes strictly to the SPI flash ROM on the motherboard and does not touch your SSD or Windows installation. However, BitLocker keys should always be backed up first.
